The charity operates a book stall in the hospital Out Patient Department on every Monday to Friday between 10.00 and 12.00 and every Monday to Thursday from 14.00 until 16.00. There is also a book stall in the Blood Taking Service waiting area during its opening hours as well as one in both Poplar Place and the Urgent Treatment Centre.

In 2019 this service raised £5,850 which will be put to good use for the benefit of the services we support.

There is no itemised charge for books sold in the hospital, but we ask for a donation of not less than 50p per book; all such donations allow us to claim Gift Aid.

If you have spare books, in good condition, and wish to donate them please leave them at Reception in the Out Patient Department or at our office in the Octapus Centre; every book is vetted to make sure it is in good condition and suitable for our stalls so please do not put any books straight into the display.

The charity can also sell videos, CDs and DVDs and uses these to raise additional funds.

Books for children are especially popular and we would welcome more donations if possible.
