Volunteers wanted!

We have been asked to expand the Ward Trolley Service, Mealtime Companion and Patient Visiting Services. We also need to fill vacancies in the rotas for some of our other services which occur from time to time.

The Friends and the community say Thank You NHS

Last year the Friends of St Cross matched funds received from the organisers of the Heroes Ball and matched the funds to donate mugs and a Christmas lunch for the team at St Cross.

Helping patients breath more easily

The Friends have recently supported the Community Nursing Service in Rugby with a donation of six nebulizers which will benefit patients suffering from asthma or other lung conditions.

Surgeons operating at the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby are delighted to have taken delivery of a Mini C-Arm X-ray device for use in surgery on patients’ hands or feet.

The Friends of St Cross have marked an historical milestone after reaching £4 million in donations to benefit the NHS and patient care in Rugby.

A sophisticated scanner will help diagnose glaucoma

The Glaucoma team at the Hospital of St Cross has recently taken delivery of an Ocular Coherance Tomography (OCT) Scanner which enables Ophthalmic Technicians to examine patients and produce a report for a consultant to assess whether or not they require specialist intervention or regular monitoring of their condition.

Joe Greenwell CBE DL, The High Sheriff of Warwickshire, attended the Friends Board meeting, on Zoom on the 8th of March 2021, and presented the Charity with a High Sheriff's Award.
